Greetings to all, i am a new recruit at the Academy for FreeWorlds.
and i was wondering if you use any coms like TS or BC as my typing isnt that fast

A few of us practiced on TeamSpeak awhile back for an event against the Rebel Squadrons, and we liked it. Normally, however, we don't use it. If you want, though, ask, and you might find your wingmate will have it.

I though the results were promising at first, when used in small groups. However when we tried to get more than three or four people going at one time things seemed to break down on the technical side. Unfortunately none of us had a computer good enough to run a Teamspeak server and X-Wing Alliance at the same time without lag problems. Perhaps if someone else were to act as the TS server or if one of us were able to get their hands on a faster computer things would work a little better.

Wedge: The problem with *any* LA game so far was that you will have unneeded lag in any larger group, regardless what kind of connection and computer you have. It's really weird. Ask Steel for more details.

with regards to lag on ts, it all depends on what speed the servers connection is, i have run a few MW4 servers with no probs, tho i did have a 700k line at the time. i havnt had trouble running BC for about 8 users with no uber lag trouble on a 56k modem...all that also depends on the sound quality, if u set it for low quality sampling it works great..

, and about the other platforms, the only other game that i love is MW4 mercs..

by the way does anyone know where i can get a joystick mod for freelancer, since I HATE MOUSE FLYING!!!!!. ehem..erm..yep thats my point:P....
and i am currently searching for xwing alliance...hard to trackdown, but im sure ill get there.

hi deadlysinn, well i normaly also hate mouse flying but in freelancer i think they found a perfect sollution for it, could easy adept to it, so just give it a chance

You can actually fly with a mouse in FreeWorlds? I wasn't aware. How does that work?

its the only way you can fly....freelancer was made for mouse flying...kinda works a bit like tiefighter...if u ever played it with a mouse cuz ur dad would buy u a joystick..

...im getting more used to it now so i gues ill have to grin and bare it..

If you're using IE, always double check to see if you logged in, you'll probably need to double log-in, but you won't see what the new post are. I suggest using the "Log me in automatcially" function if you can.
