<FA_Fel> 1) Academy Changes Complete!
<FA_Fel> As discussed in the last meeting, we have changed the requirements for the Imperial Academy to make it somewhat more difficult to graduate.
<FA_Fel> After a long period of consideration, we found that we would like to have members who are motivated enter the ranks, instead of people speeding through the academy with a screenshot in their submission form, and then going AWOL right afterwards...
<FA_Fel> Commodore Junon will explain the details of the new system, I am sure...!

<FA_Fel> 2) Empire Reborn Domain Error Pages
<FA_Fel> As some of you might have already seen, the EmpireReborn.net domain has now got custom error pages (e.g. a 404 error for something that was not found). If you should mistype an address, then you should no longer land at the host provided ad-filled page.
<FA_Fel> Unfortunately, due to some configuration on the hosting company's side, an error involving a php page still takes you to their ad-laden "search" page, but Moff Jansen is working to resolve that issue.

<FA_Fel> 3) Ladders Reminder
<FA_Fel> As announced in the last meeting: To stimulate ladder activity in some platforms that have seen a recent drop-off, for the winter ladders I have a little extra reward in mind for the winners of the following ladders, assuming at least ten matches are played in them:
<FA_Fel> The Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, and X-Wing Alliance ladders. I hope to be handing out awards come the April meeting!
<FA_Fel> As expected, the winter ladders remain open until 2009-03-31.

<FA_Fel> One further item of Academy business - it is my pleasure to promote Commodore Junon to the rank of Rear Admiral, in recognition of his excellent work at the Imperial Academy since he has taken command there.

<AD_JagFel> 2. Competition launch on hold
<AD_JagFel> With the "Operation: IRON FIST" war game about to commence, the launch of the mission creation/completion competition I have hinted about recently will have to wait. Antillies beat me to it, oh well.

<AD_JagFel> 3. Return to Duty
<AD_JagFel> Yet another returns from the Reserves, Lieutenant Commander La Forge has taken command of Iota squadron on the Chimaera. He is an excellent officer with a long history, and we are glad to have him back.

<AD_JagFel> 4. Future Platforms
<AD_JagFel> The Navy is looking for potential future platforms to take on, preferably as simulator space combat or other personal-level combat.
<AD_JagFel> While Empire at War has drawn its share of officers, the squadrons that started the Navy are slowly dwindling, as the platforms they utilize near 10-15 years old and just maintaining the personnel cannot hold forever.

<AD_JagFel> 1. New EaW patch
<AD_JagFel> RA Mar has added another Empire at War patch to the mix, this one removing the intro movies when starting EaW. As it stands now it requires the launcher, but a future update may remove that requirement upon confirmation that there are no issues with multiplayer.

<AD_JagFel> 2. GEPV update
<AD_JagFel> The GEPV has been updated notably with the addition of Venators for scoring EaW screenshots. Also included in this update are reworked validation checks.

<AD_JagFel> XvT now has the Map and .LST interfaces. Lots of other code updates throughout the program. Briefing is next and will take a while as I have to recreate exactly how it behaves in XvT, much like I did for TIE.

<MGN_Branet> positions of big responsibility, which he has gone with with big care and dedication. Our 1st Brigade are in very good hands,

<MGN_Branet> - The CO'S position of the company Spearhead there has been taken for the now CPT Kevin Hennings, who was already previously
<MGN_Branet> CO of this company and also he was BRG-CO of the 1st Brigade.

<RA_Junon> 1. As FA Fel mentioned before, the Imperial Academy is now implementing a stricter set of admission requirements. Cadets will now be required to submit a screenshot to prove ownership of a supported platform (as before), but now will also be required to complete various tasks in order to obtain three "credits".
<RA_Junon> Examples of such tasks are message board posts, Academy exams, combat certifications, and numerous other activities. These new requirements will go into effect shortly and the academy site will be updated accordingly at that time with a list of activities and their credit values.
<RA_Junon> 2. The structure of the Academy staff is also going to be updated. The Prefect position, previously a full-time post similar to that of Commandant, is now going to become a Temporary Duty Assignment (much like the current Dean positions). That being said, I am happy to announce that LCL Antillies will be filling that position and leaving his post as Dean of the Navy.
<RA_Junon> And finally, I am much honored to be promoted to Rear Admiral. I hope to continue to serve as Commandant for a very long time. Thank you.
