New ships

This is probably one of the most notable functions on the IDMR, besides the patches that have already been completed, but it only works if people want to use it. Chances are the first ships will be ported (so the Skipray Blastboat can be used in TIE) before new craft are made from scratch. This one's up to you folks (at least for now).

I'd like to see the Eclipse Star Destroyer myself, though I doubt we'd see it seeing as how there's trouble fitting s super in there.

And the Eclipse is one of the "fake" EU ships. I personally don't like the comics at all, so I'm going to ingore any of that unless told otherwise :P

We could add the T/D fighters that would be used in about a year or so from our time during the assult on Mon Calamari. They'd at least have blue prints most likely, and mabey working prototyes. We could make a mission to practice using them, or an escort mission during a transpher of the fighters (How many of those type of missions did they manage to stuff into the games though) . They'd be a cool fighter to use though, and the fact that they're droids can be overdone by calling it a remote control use :)

Colonel Fel: Ah, misunderstood. I thought you said X-Wing, not the series... opps. :P

And I disagree with remote fighters... nothing will ever replace a true pilot in a cockpit.

A question. Are we talking about adding ships from other games (TIE/XvT/XWA)? Ie adding stuff like all the fighters from XWA into XvT? If yes, I vote Yes.

If we are talking about creating new ships - HELL NO! I am sick of all these weird contraptions in the style of "lets add three more solar panels and five rocket launchers and call it a new ship" crap. :P

Yes, I'm talking about porting ships, at least to start with. As I put in my report (old thread that I moved into here), I refuse to make more "TIE"s, because that's one of the stupidest trends ever :P

One of the things that always bugged me is that the T/A and T/D are slower in XvT and XWA than in TIE. The T/A, for example, had a max speed of 145MGLT in TIE, but only 133MGLT in XvT/XWA.

I know it's probably to make the games fairer to Rebel players - but who cares? I liked those extra 12MGLT.

And that is easliy fixed, call it "Improved Engineering" :wink:
As soon I finish making a few utilities for myself to make the process faster, I can start porting ships. After that, we'll see we do without succumbing to making fake ships.

One of the biggest obstacles and time-waster is the cockpit, since TieEdit is the only program I've seen that can edit the cockpits, and it's got its share of quirks that really bug me. But the craft are still a little way off, I just wanted to make sure that something was going to come of when ir when I start working on them.

Tieedit program where to find it.And i think we need improve our TIE's they still can something but the need to improve them , or just restore TIE type X (Vaders Fighter in EaW) and add something for this goooddy fighter.
