Description: With a rotational period of less than five hours, Vaaken is a mystery that Imperial scientists have yet to solve. Though it is the furthest planet from the Korad sun it is oddly warm, just barely below freezing, but still habitable. Some have theorized that this is a result of the extreme speed of the planets revolution, which may actually generate friction between the planets rocky surface and the atmosphere, much like rubbing one’s hands together quickly can produce heat. In any event the heat is not from internal sources, as the planets core is a nearly solid ball of rock, rather than the molten core typically found on warmer planets. In addition, though the core is nearly solid, the planet still has a powerful magnetic field that protects it from stellar radiation, probably also due to the shear rotational speed of the planet. Unfortunately no humanoid species has been able to adjust to the incredibly short day, so the planet remains uninhabited.
