Description: Kalis, the third planet in the Derilyn system, is a world of stark contrasts. Vast barren plains of sheer rock cover about half of the planet's surface, but the rest is blanketed in steaming jungle. There are no oceans on Kalis, but huge pools of water often collect in the thickly-woven canopies. Strange lifeforms have evolved in the permanent dark beneath the canopies, but none of any great size or intelligence. There have been several attempts to found research stations on the planet - attempts which have always been soon abandoned, as the voracious jungle swallows all outposts in a matter of weeks. Kalis has a single moon, Deut.
